Installation FAQs
-
Before we arrive, we ask that you have a suitable base prepared. see the Base FAQ section below to see what constitutes a suitable base.
-
Installation time can vary from a few hours to a whole week depending on the size and complexity of your greenhouse, but most greenhouses take about a day to install.
Base FAQs
-
All greenhouses can be installed on top of a solid base and most can be dug into the earth. Please give us a call to check whether your greenhouse can be 'dug in'.
-
If you chose to have your greenhouse installed on a solid base, we advise the following:
a concrete slab
a concrete perimeter
paving stones on concrete
paving stones on sharp sand and cement
-
"Digging in" the greenhouse involves adding ground anchors to the four corners of a greenhouse, digging holes at these four corners and securing the anchors by filling the holes with postcrete.
If you chose to have your greenhouse dug into earth, we advise that you position you greenhouse away from any trees as the roots interfere with the digging.
-
Please make sure to check the dimensions of your specific greenhouse online. A 6 foot greenhouse is always longer than 6 foot and an 8 foot greenhouse is always longer than 8 foot etc. We recommend looking up the measurements in metric!
Additionally, the base needs to have at least 50 mm excess on each side. To work this out, look up the measurements for the make and model of your greenhouse online and add 100mm to each measurement.
